Since 1989, Sheila has been inspiring people towards better health through movement. What began as a part time job turned into a full time career as an instructor, trainer, manager, nutrition and life coach, consultant and independent club owner. She began teaching group classes at the age of 19 and as the industry grew and evolved and new concepts in fitness began to emerge, she embraced every one as an opportunity to reinvent herself and re-inspire her clients. Sheila’s philosophy is that your success (and ours) is based on trust. She believes that mindset is everything when it comes to accomplishing your goals and that respecting a clients desires is just as important as addressing their needs. She strongly believes that ‘working in’ is just as important as ‘working out’ and that true achievement is fueled by inspiration, not desperation. She lives the concept “in order to achieve more and have more first you must become more.”

Integrating optimal health and fitness into our fast paced lifestyles can be a challenge. Having two small children myself I can definitely relate. It is not easy trying to find the perfect balance of hard work, rest and play while intertwining quality time with family and friends. From my training along with the rest of the staff, I want you to learn and appreciate how the body works most effectively and efficiently. I stress the importance of body awareness and making small changes to create significant differences in daily movement patterns and posture. This type of training can be accomplished at any age and all fitness levels. I believe it is important to stay educated in regard to what fitness and health professionals have developed and what they are currently discovering.

I have a broad athletic background which allows me to keep workouts energetic and interesting by challenging my clients in new ways. Creating an exciting and motivating environment allows me to assist you in pushing yourself to the next level. As a well-rounded trainer I do many things such as coach movement on the kinesis wall, lead group classes, and personal training. My passion is athletic training but I take great pride in building a stronger and more efficient you regardless of your goal. I have chall-enged both the general population and high end athletes during my six years in the fitness industry. If you have the desire to train like a high end athlete then let’s propel you towards that higher goal. If you’re driven by sports, have a passion for fitness or are simply looking to lead a healthier lifestyle, I am here to help you design, establish and achieve your goals.

My passion for helping people has brought me to a career in the health and fitness industry. I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science and specialized honors in Kinesiology with an Athletic Therapy certificate. I had the experience of working with many of the varsity teams at York University including the swimming, hockey and soccer teams. I am a Certified Athletic Therapist, which has increased my knowledge in helping clients rehabilitate them-selves and create strength quickly. If you are concerned about an injury, I can work alongside your current health professional designing and tailoring a program for your specific needs. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you make and achieve your goals, whether they are for sport performance or just everyday activity.

Fitness and functionality are a defining aspect of my life. I have spent the past 8 years training myself and others to achieve aesthetic, performance, and functional training goals. While studying Kinesiology at Western University and Fitness and Health Promotion at Humber College, I learned the physio-logical and anatomical considerations to achieve these goals as efficiently and safely as possible. I am a huge believer in functional training. Functional training involves improving core and joint stability while focusing on large body movements which mimic real life activity. This type of training will improve sport or occupational performance but perhaps more importantly, will improve the quality of your life. As we age we lose muscle mass, range of motion, and the functional strength required for daily living. However, a structured training regimen can provide the progressive overload needed to combat the aging process. I look forward to showing you the way to reach your health and fitness goals.
