Winter Break Camp
Winter Break Camp 2020
COVID-19 Style
Register Online, By Phone or In-Person
In an effort to support families and provide children opportunities for social and physical activities, we will now offer a modified version of our popular Winter Break Camp, aligning with the Ministry of Health’s guidelines. As group sizes will be much smaller and there are room capacities in place to support physical distancing, the number of spaces available this summer will be significantly reduced.
2020 Parent Handbook click here.
An important update to our COVID-19 Policies is when you drop off your child for the first day of camp, the personal belongings in your child’s backpack will stay at HRC until the end of the week. Soiled items will be sent home daily.

Additional information regarding our new health & safety processes will be provided to registered families in an All About Camp document before the camp start date.

As an example, in accordance with the Province’s Ministry of Health guidelines for Summer Day Camps, some of the steps we will be taking include:

  • Groups of no more than 8 campers.
  • One group per program space
  • Groups will not be able to integrate with other groups or be in the same program space at any one time
  • Increased sanitization of high touch points throughout each location
  • Increased hand washing for staff and children
  • Increased sanitization of program equipment at each location
  • Temperature checks at drop off and after lunch

Although summer day camps are exempted from WDG Public Health Unit Class 22 Order, campers will be required to wear a mask indoors for certain activities that do not allow physical or social distancing.

A face covering can be a mask, scarf, bandana, other cloth covering or non-surgical paper mask as long as it covers your camper’s nose and mouth.

Programming has been designed to reduce the need for face coverings, but some situations will require one.

Please review to WDG Public Health Unit guidelines for up to date information.

Original Answer:

Campers are not required to wear a face mask while at camp as per Dufferin-Wellington Health Unit Face Covering Class Order

Parents are encouraged to discuss with their children the importance of social distancing when possible and the need to keep all campers and staff safe.

Winter Break Camp will allow small groups of kids to enjoy fun and creative physically-distanced sports, games and crafts this winter, with activities held outdoors whenever possible.
